The role

NightJarr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Director, who will play a crucial role in maintaining and building strong relationships with our clients.  This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of digital marketing, client & project management, and leadership. Their primary goal will be to drive the success of our clients' marketing campaigns/projects by achieving business objectives while maximising revenue and profitability for the agency and managing the account team efficiently. 


As a contractor at NightJarr, you will have the flexibility to manage other commitments while being part of the supportive NightJarr community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Client relationship management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, understanding their business goals, and addressing their marketing needs. Build and nurture strong relationships at a senior level with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Account & project management: Oversee the planning, development, and execution of multiple integrated marketing campaigns and accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, strategy, digital media, SEO, UX and analytics, to deliver high-quality solutions that align with client objectives and industry best practices.
  • Strategy development: Work with clients to understand their business objectives, target audience, competitive landscape, and industry trends. Develop and execute comprehensive data-driven marketing strategies, present strategic recommendations that drive growth, increase brand visibility, and generate measurable results.
  • Team leadership: Lead and mentor a team of account managers and cross-functional technical marketers, and coordinate a collaborative & efficient work environment.
  • Financial management: Manage account & project profitability, revenue forecasts, and budgets. Track project scopes, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Identify opportunities for account growth and revenue expansion.
  • Performance analysis: Track and analyse campaign performance metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to clients. Evaluate marketing strategies, optimise campaigns, and recommend improvements based on data-driven analysis in collaboration with the technical consultant on the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in account management or client services within a digital marketing agency or similar environment. Proven track record of managing large, complex accounts and delivering successful campaigns.
  • Marketing expertise: Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics across various channels, including digital, social media, content, and SEO. Familiarity with market research, audience segmentation, and marketing analytics.
  • Client-focused: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organisation. Proven experience in managing client expectations, resolving conflicts, and providing exceptional client service.
  • Strategic thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop strategic marketing plans and align them with client objectives. Strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and inspiring teams, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Business acumen: Understanding of business dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes. Ability to identify growth opportunities and contribute to the business's overall business development efforts. Ability to unpack a problem from an unstructured brief into an actionable plan of action.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
